When It’s All or Nothing
Business-critical applications are vital to day-to-day operations and commercial success. If such a system fails, processes come to a standstill and turnover is put at risk. The resulting costs quickly mount up.
Mission-critical applications are even closer to the core. Without them, a company cannot fulfil its core purpose. In practice, these two descriptions often overlap. For us, one question matters above all else: what happens if the system fails? The answer to this question determines the requirements for architecture, security, scalability and operations.
Business-critical applications are defined as applications whose failure to run or faulty execution could have potentially catastrophic consequences. These are generally systems whose malfunction, depending on the sector or intended use, would lead to significant financial losses or a serious disruption to business operations.

AI can automate processes, make information more readily available and support staff in their decision-making. To do so, it must be reliably integrated into the existing architecture. This includes controlled data access, traceable results and early-warning monitoring. And it must be clear who is responsible for what.
