The UNDP is the development program of the United Nations (UN). The United Nations Development Program is the third largest organization within the United Nations. The UNDP Executive Committee consists of representatives from thirty-six countries around the world on a rotating basis. UNDP promotes through the provision of advisory capacity, training, as well as grant funds. There is an increasing focus on promoting the so-called Least Developed Countries. In order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and advance global development, the UNDP focuses on poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS, democratic governance, energy and the environment, as well as general crisis prevention. The core task in all programs is the protection of human rights and the equal treatment of women.
