On 14 October 2021, our name and business purpose changed: byte5 digital media GmbH will become byte5 GmbH. What we have been talking about in-house and with our customers for a long time is now official. With byte5 live, we also start planning new events for 2022.
Our former name reflects very well the situation when we were founded in 2004. We were very broadly positioned and offered a wide variety of services in the web sector. Therefore, the name and business purpose were kept as general as possible. But with age came maturity: we have sharpened our profile over the years and tailored it even more precisely to the needs of our customers. Today, we specialise in a few selected core technologies, such as Umbraco CMS, Laravel, IOTA and Pimcore, which we master down to the smallest detail.
In-house and also with our customers, we have been speaking only of byte5 for many years. It was therefore long overdue to make this change official and to adapt our name and business purpose. We are now creating greater clarity about our positioning and the services we provide.

The new name does not affect the cooperation with our clients, as it has no consequences for our operational work.
And there is something else new to report: the founding of byte5 live GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of byte5 GmbH. As the name already suggests, in future all events such as training courses, meetups, trainings and festivals will be handled here.
By the way: All fans of tech festivals can already look forward to 2022. With byte5 live, we are getting back into festival planning after a break due to Corona. And one thing is already certain: it's going to be big!
