Nowadays, Umbraco has over 100 Gold Partners from 16 countries. In June 2020, the Umbraco headquarters are introducing a new recognition badge for further differentiation: Contributing Gold Partner. With many years as an Umbraco Gold Partner, byte5 is among the 26 chosen ones.
byte5 has been an Umbraco Gold Partner since 2011, and has for many years been the only partner in the entire German-speaking area. A lot has happened since we were appointed Gold Partner nine years ago. The number of Gold Partners worldwide has more than doubled in the past four years from 50 to 120 – a strong rise that shows us one thing: Umbraco is becoming increasingly important and more people than ever are working hard with enthusiasm every day to further the development of the open source CMS.

The increase in Gold Partners recently aroused a question for the Umbraco HQ: How can the “golden oldies” stand out? Those Gold Partners whose history with Umbraco goes back many, many years? Those who continue to improve the CMS with their extraordinary efforts? The Umbraco HQ’s response is the newly released recognition badge: Contributing Gold Partner. As of today, only 26 companies are allowed to call themselves Contributing Gold Partners, and it is those who are dedicated to Umbraco with their tireless commitment that goes beyond the loyal payment of the annual fee.
Much like the Umbraco MVP status, we want to reward Gold Partner agencies that year after year contribute beyond their subscription fee – and with something quite valuable; time, knowledge and hard work. So you might call it MVP for agencies.

With core contributions, an MVP-awarded Umbraco 8 package and last but not least our established Umbraco Festival Deutschland, byte5 can rightly call itself a Contributing Gold Partner. The badge will be awarded every summer and is valid for two years.
